This week's prompt is:
creature
Anyone can join, with a 50-word vignette in the comments. Your vignette does not have to include the prompt term.
My efforts:
Halley looked from Artos to Corridon and back. They looked human. But she knew enough of the tales. Many very human-looking ones were dangerous. If they did look human and were not enchanted. And even Finella -- just because the fae looked like a pixy --
"What sort of creatures are you?"
"This," said Tristan, "is not some kind of invisible creature wandering the station and snatching off people so that they vanish as well as it. It was too sudden. No one reacted."
"Could be a whole army of invisible creatures," said Talia. "Exquisitely well coordinated to pull it off flawlessly."
With the bloody stench already nauseating, Cal looked past the bodies as quickly as he could. He still saw enough that he hoped that some of those creatures had been animal rather than human; the changes to reach their current form would have been less drastic, if still ultimately fatal.
