In the first book, two characters will discuss how to deal with evil sorcerers who fled the land.
In the second book, there is a country with a tyranny. Also one that's sort of loosely knit, situated on a mountain, and a monarchy that's relatively stable. Unless the tyrant invades it.
I don't know how the politics of the next two (or three) will fit together, but there are probably going to have to be some allusions about the world in the earlier works. Vistas and horizons to suggest the world is larger. They're good in themselves, at that.
And if the end does devise a way to prevent certain evil sorcery from being practiced again, that will definitely raise questions about countries.
