of men and metaphysics

What monsters you have in the world can affect your metaphysics. Though monster differs from monster in metaphysical issue causing nature.
Men can do the same things.
Necromancers I've also touched on. Death magic and animated bodies not so much as souls.
But paladins, clerics, druids. . . it is really hard to have them have holy powers and not bringing out metaphysical implications. If there are religious disputes in your world, the powers will affect them. No matter how distant the Divine is. If the holy powers are the only signs of their existence, they will still have enormous implications.
I note, BTW, that you can not declare that all the faiths are valid but your own path is, say, Christian -- and be Christian. If you have a Crossover Cosmology and your characters believe it, they are Crossover Cosmologists. And if all religions have paladins, either some of the powers are fake or there is some kind of synthesis behind it all.
