throwing it in
Dec. 21st, 2011 10:44 pmThere's going to be a festivity in Kingsport.
I don't know what it is. I don't even know whether the characters will figure out what it is. They aren't interested in it, and what they are interested in -- well, they aren't going to find it because they are going to be precipitated out of Kingsport rather quickly. Which means even less time for finding out stuff they aren't even interested in.
But you never know. I threw in a character in another story for padding -- expanding the cast of characters is one of the more elegant ways to deal with an underweight story -- and suddenly realized that she's the reason why something changed so that our heroes can't do exactly what a bit character did, and also for a minor piece of trivia that I had thrown in for local color.
It may be me, but I suspect the muse finds this sort of hilarious. Otherwise it wouldn't happen so often.
