More comics about Rose Gumbo (and her alter-ego Vicki), her husband Jimbo, her son Pasquale (and his guardian angel) and other continuing characters.  With a tendency to the sweet.

One shots like Vicki going to the store to pick up the special ordered rattlesnake meat for her chili.  Or Pasquale's reflection being interrupted in a race with the alert that Pasquale is approaching a mirror -- in mirror writing, of course.

And sequences like Rose hitting a Y2K problem of her own rather the computers, where she sees everything Victorianized.

I'll be honest, I had no idea what to make of Pasquale's name. I figured it was one of those pseudo-African names until, much later (since this was before the interwebs), when a Tidewater talkshow host, named Pasquale Giovanni, made me realize that it was a normal Italian name.

Before I get accused of racism, my problem with African-American names is that... for the most part, they're syllable-salads, being names in neither America, nor anywhere in Africa.

I recognized it as a variant on Pascal. Then, I think I horribly mispronounce it, mentally, because of the association.
