At some point, one of them has to explain to the other three that he didn't go into this branch of it because he was particularly interested in it, but because he needed a branch where he could make a living -- the family firm didn't have room for another son, especially because he was born late -- and he knew this one would do it, and he had an aptitude for it. Gotta fit it in somewhere.
Meanwhile I have to decide if there are subjects besides mathematics and history that they will be studying on top of magic. Possibly rhetoric -- and they would call it rhetoric.
